Written over the past few years with no particular theme or parameter, the mixtape is more like a scrapbook. I think as an artist there's a temptation to reflect on the music you've made in retrospect and then things never get released because you feel like you've moved on either in skill, creativity or thought. I spent a while working on these and they actually helped me learn a lot about my process and the artist I want to be, so rather than them gathering dust I wanted to share them, so people can come on that journey with me. From relationships in love and friendship to growing up queer, rediscovering my love of music to an ode to one of my idols - the mixtape is a collection of sprawling thoughts, no running thread or theme, it's simply 'some songs’.

I can't wait to show you what we've got next, but for now, I hope you just enjoy 'some songs' ❤️

This marks the end of a cycle of work, which I started pre-pandemic, and like us all over the last few years, with these songs I've been on a bit of a journey. On the way, I feel like both my music and I have grown and that's because I've had the pleasure to work with some of the most talented people, whom I'm now lucky to call friends. Thank you to everyone that's played a part in it!
